Parliamentary Reception – our first reception in Parliament, sponsored by Cornerstone, with over 100 influential women in tech policy and MPs from across the political spectrum.
- On Tuesday 29 April, the Women in Tech Policy Network brought together over a hundred women from across the UK for the first ever parliamentary reception focused on women’s leadership in tech policymaking.
- Held in the House of Commons, the event showcased the growing influence of expert women shaping digital policy across industry, government and academia. Women travelled from as far afield as Glasgow and Germany to attend, many stepping inside Parliament for the first time.
- Speakers included Lucy Rigby MP, Solicitor General, and MPs from across the political spectrum, who shared a powerful message: tech policy must be inclusive, cross-party and action-oriented. The reception was co-founded and hosted by Casey Calista and Dr Hannah Shimko, with support from Labour Digital, Digital Tories and Digital LibDems.
- The event, generously sponsored by the CORNERSTONE Photonics Innovation Centre, highlighted the crucial role of women in tackling future tech challenges—from AI and quantum to digital competition and online safety. Its success shows the power of bringing women together not just to be heard, but to lead.
